I enlisted to a Rush Event project which was searching for musicians who would play some Rush songs together, without being an actual band together before. So this involved a mix of amateurs and (semi)professionals going on stage as support act for The RUSHians (Dutch Rush tribute band).
Challenging project...
Early March 2025 I signed up with Ronald van Dalfsen for a challenging project: as part of the Dutch Rush event in July musicians were asked to play a Rush song together with random others musicians (of various skill levels). This challenge was called Rush Idols and would perform live on the big stage of the Boerderij in Zoetermeer, as support act for The RUSHians (Dutch Rush tribute band). In ended up playing “Finding My Way” and “Red Barchetta” with two different combos, without rehearsing together upfront. Big challenge and wonderful to have been a part of this project!

Besides the actual performance on stage this event also gave the opportunity to socialize with many other musicians and experience what else goes on behind the scenes of a big production like this.

The challenging Rush song Red Barchetta needed an additional synthesizer sound at certain sections. So I added an extra challenge to the equation by contructing samples to be controlled by foot during the live performance on stage.
